                   Two Page Scrap Workshop

Tuesday, September 22, 6:30pm

Basically the same layout with different paper.  See what a
difference a paper choice can make.

Bring your own related pictures (8 - 12), choose your own paper
from my stash to coordinate with them,
and create your layout.  We will be using the pattern above.

Bring your own adhesive, pop dots, scissors, paper trimmer and
any other favorite scrapping tools you may have.

$8 for the workshop covers the cutting directions, card stock, Cricut cuts, any accessories or
embellishments you would like to use on your two page layout and my help (if you need it).
You may make more than layout if you have time - just pay for the extra paper.
There are still a few spots open, so just call or email by Monday, September 21st.
P.S. -  This is a great workshop for beginners!

National Stamping Month Blog Hop

It's National Stamping Month!
and we're celebrating by offering three exclusive stamp sets
available only through September 30th.
If you are hopping here from Jacquelin's blog
you are on the right path.

Each stamp set is designed to fit
with a specific type of paper crafting:
For traditional scrapbooking

 For card making
or for pocket scrapbooking

However, all the stamp sets coordinate with

each other and can be used together to create

your own unique style of paper crafting.

Better yet, these stamp sets also coordinate
with shapes from the new Cricut® Artistry
collection to help expand your artwork
options even further.
$13.95 each, or buy all three for only $34.95.

There's something I like in all three of the sets,
so of course, I needed to take advantage of the deal
and get all three which you will see I used
in my layout.
I used the new Whimsy Paper Fundamentals
along with Glacier, Canary,
second generation Smoothie, and Black inks.

Here's a closer view of the sides of the
page where I used the stamp sets.

Here are two cards I made with some
of the scraps from my layout.

Now hop over to Jennifer's blog to see what creative
ideas she has in store for you.

September Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the

Close To My Heart

September Stamp of the Month

Blog Hop

If you are hopping from Nancy's blog
you are on the right path.  If this is your first blog hop,
start here with the work that I have shared
and then look at the end of my post for your
next stop on the Blog Hop.

This HOP is going to be even more exciting than usual!
Why?  In addition to great ideas on how to use
the beautiful stamp set, Paper Garden,

you will see lots of new products released TODAY in the new 2015 - 2016
Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

I spent a whole day playing and experimenting with our new watercolors
and this stamp set.  My pre-teen granddaughter, Jadyn,
was here from out of town and working with me,
so that made the day even more fun!

First I will share some of the cards I made.
Here I used a wash technique wetting the watercolor paper with water
before applying a mixture of blues and greens.  I then stamped with
black Momento ink once the paper was dry.  The card is mounted on
Sapphire paper and embellished with the new Teal shimmer trim.

The next card also uses the same technique.

For this color resist card I stamped the image with Versa Mark,
heat embossed the image with Clear embossing powder,
and then washed over the embossed images with pinks and oranges.

On the next two cards I applied paint to my acrylic block,  stamped using
the color on the block on watercolor paper.  The flowers were then stamped
using Momento black ink.

There was a different result using a different type of
watercolor paper rather than our new Watercolor paper.

Finally, I tried stamping using watercolors on my stamps rather than ink.
I liked the effect -- definitely different than stamping with ink.
One thing I learned is that you need to clean your stamp right
away using a brush scrubber and some soapy water.

Scrapbook pages
The edges of the mats were stippled with a mixture of various watercolor
blues and greens.  The background was achieved by using watercolors
on my stamps rather than ink.  The black images were stamped with Momento ink.

Hope you will enjoy the new CTMH watercolors and
this stamp set as much as I do.
