September SOTM Blog hop - Random Acts of Cardness

Welcome!

Glad you could join us today!  A blog hop is just one big loop of fun and creative ideas. So if you're joining me here, grab your beverage of choice, and sit back ready to be inspired by creative ideas for using this new Close To My Heart stamp of the month.

If you are coming from Krista's blog, you're on the right path. If you are starting here, just look for the link to Danielle's blog at the end of my post.  Each blog you visit will feature a link to continue following the hop. If you get disconnected somewhere along the way, you can find a complete list of blog hop participants here.

This month's stamp set, Random Acts of Cardness features 17 stamps that are especially great for card making, although I also see 3 captions I plan to use on scrapbooking layouts. I always love the blog hops to see the many wonderful ideas other consultants come up with.

This stamp set is available only through the month of September.  After seeing all the great ideas in this blog hop, you're going to want to add this to your stamp collection.  You can purchase this set for $18.95, or get it for only $5 with a qualifying order of $50 (US) through your Close To My Heart consultant or find it here.

For this month's project I made 3 cards.

Here's a closer look.

For the first card, I started out with using a thin cut I hadn't had a chance to use yet -- the Multi Circle Window with new papers and colors from the core idea book released today. All the little openings called out for smiles to go with the caption I chose to use.

The little smiling faces came from the Paper Pal base stamp set.  The little furry faces are from the Paper Pal Pet set and were colored with Watercolor Pencils and blended with a watercolor brush.  Shiny eyes and embellishments are the new Julep (color of the year) Glitter Gems.

With all the leftovers from die cutting for the first card, I played around to find another design to use up the frame and some of the circles.  So this is what came next.

There were still some circles left, as well as the stitched inner rectangle left over from the second card;  so play continued until this card came together.

I have to say, I had some fun playing and creating with the scraps of one card to go on to the next.  I think my favorite is the second card.  Which one is your favorite?
