February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Cherishing Her

Welcome!

Glad you could join us today!  A blog hop is just one big loop of fun and creative ideas. So if you're joining me here, grab your beverage of choice, and sit back ready to be inspired by creative ideas for using this new Close To My Heart stamp of the month

If you are coming from Gina's blog , you are on the right path.  At the end of this post you will see a link to Krista's blog for you to continue following the hop.  If you get disconnected somewhere along the way, you can find a complete list of blog hop participants here.

The stamp of the monthCherishing Her , is a set of 23 stamps that will be wonderful for designing cards or scrapbooks for those favorite ladies in your life.  As you go through this hop, you'll see lots of  creative ideas for using this stamp set.

For my projects this month, I paired the stamp of the month with another new stamp set that I have been itching to create with, Angel Hugs, (c1820).

The images were stamped with Intense Black ink and shaded in with a gray water color pencil which was blended in with a clear shimmer brush. Unfortunately the shimmer really doesn't show up on this picture.  The black centers of the flowers were done with the black shimmer brush.

Here's a close up

With this card, the coloring was done with colored shimmer brushes, except for the wings.  Here again, I colored the wings with a water color pencil and then blended the color with a clear shimmer brush.

Another close up so you can see the shimmer.

In the next few cards, I didn't include a sentiment because I like to have some cards on hand to finish for a special occasion.  I just thought I'd share them to show you how this stamp set looks with gold embossing powder and alcohol markers.

My final "experiment" to share with you is this.
I think I might go back and add just a little more red to some of the flowers in the center bunch -- maybe with a red watercolor pencil.  I didn't have the right shade of red to work with when I was preparing this.  Maybe you have another suggestion for me.
I'd love to hear from you.

Cherishing Her  is available only through the month of February.  After seeing all the great ideas in this blog hop, you're going to want to add this to your stamp collection.  You can purchase this set for $18.95, or get it for only $5 with a qualifying order of $50 (US) through your Close To My Heart consultant or find it here  .

  2. They are all stunning. I love them all. I love the last one but if you wanted to add more red I would put it on the large flower in the center.
