June Stamp of the Month - Ice Cream Dream

It's time for Ice Cream!
Join us in the Close to My Heart
June Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop

If you have arrived here from  Peachy's Blog, you are on the right path.

This month we are featuring Ice Cream Dream, a set of 7 stamps great for scrapbook layouts and fun summer cards.  The images really come to life when colored with the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

This month we are sharing creative ideas from 50 talented consultants.  Sit down with your beverage of choice (or maybe a dish or your favorite ice cream) and get your pinning finger ready since you're in for some really yummy treats.  At the end of my blog post you will see a link to the next consultant in the hop.

I've had fun creating a number of things using this stamp set.  I decided to share a layout that takes its inspiration from the pastor of my church.  No, he's not a stamper or scrapbooker, but he loves ice cream.  We are putting together a scrapbook for his retirement next year, so this is just one of the layouts destined for his book.  Later this year we are having a Sundae Sunday, so I plan to get pictures of him eating ice cream as well as a few other photos of the event for this layout.  If you look closely at the ice cream truck, you'll see his face peeking out at us.  The truck is labeled "Retirement Fun"  and the door is labeled "Fr. Ron."

Here are a few close ups of some of the stamps that were colored with the ShinHan Touch Twin markers.  The ice cream sundae dish was colored with the CTMH silver metallic marker.

Here's a list of the CTMH Products used in this layout in addition to the June Stamp of the month.  Click on any of the products to go to my website to get a better look or to place an order.

ShinHan Touch Twin Markers  I used Bronze, Mahogany, Barely Beige, Tender Pink, Carmine and Turquoise Blue.

Remember this set, Ice Cream Dream,  is only available through June 30th for $17.95, however, you can purchase it for only $5 with a qualifying order of $50.

The next stop along this blog hop is  Priscilla's blog .  Be sure to visit all the consultants' blogs to view some delicious ideas.

This layout was inspired by one done by Brenda Rose on Rose Blossom Legacies with Hopscotch papers.

April Scrapbook Workshop

Brushed Paper Pack

3 double page layouts

These are the layouts we completed at our April Workshop (April 20th) using the Brushed paper pack and Brushed complements with a supplement pack of Cricut cut-outs and extra card stock.

           Layout A                                                              Layout B
Layouts A and B are on white base pages.  To get the wavy edges we used a cutter from Creative Memories.  The complements for this paper pack are vellum.  To use them on this layout, we cut them out with the backing on and then used pop-dots to adhere them to the layout.

            Layout C                                                                 Layout D
Layouts C and D are on Juniper card stock.  The branches and flowers were cut out from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the trellis work is from the CTMH Artbooking Cartridge.  The flowers on the trellis are from the Brushed Complements.  We kept the backing on them since they are vellum and  the background paper would have shown through.  We used the  Pretty Petals Flair (C1599) and a stamp of the month from last Fall, It's the Little Things (S1411)stamp sets for the flowers along the edge of the page.

              Layout E                                                                  Layout F
Layouts E and F are on white daisy base pages.  With the white background we were able to use the vellum complements without the backing.  The center pattern for these layouts was cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.  The word Spring was stamped using Pear ink and the Polka Dot Alphabet Stamp set (D1469).

If you are interested in the supplement pack and the cutting directions for these layouts or the complete kit contact me here.

Welcome to the April

Close To My Heart

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

If you have come here from Cat's blog you are on the right path.

This month we are featuring a fun stamp set with a retro typewriter and loads of greetings.
There are 19 stamps in all.

Are you ready to see lots of creative ways to use this stamp set?

This month we are sharing creative ideas from over 60 talented consultants.  Sit down with your beverage of choice and get your pinning finger ready!   At the end of my blog post you will see a link to the next consultant in the hop.  Just click there and move on to the next blog. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

This month I stepped out of my creative comfort zone. I tried to create a different type of card that I often admire, but usually don't feel too successful with -- a collage card.   The jury is still out, but it was fun to try.  I'd love to hear suggestions from anyone who has advice for implementing this technique.

For this card I used Colonial White Ink and Clear Detail embossing powder on Black card stock and then hand cut the images.  The background paper is from the Brushed paper pack.  The background stamp is from the Distressed Backgrounds Flair (D1544) and was stamped in Pixie ink.  The sleeve was created using a scrap oF Pixie card stock and covered with Gold Polka Dot washi tape (Z1920).  Other supplies used on the card were Gold and Silver sequins (colored with a ShinHan Twin Touch Marker - Peony Purple Z2462), Extra Thick Twine (Pixie Z3035) and (Flaxen Z3036), and a paper doily.

For this collage card I sponged the background design using a stencil I made from the Artbooking cartridge.  The background stamp is from Distressed Backgrounds Flair (D1544).  The flowers were cut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge and colored with the Shin Han Twin Touch Marker - Marine Blue (Z2458).  I also used Sparkles, Bitty Sparkles and Sparkle Flourishes on this card.  The paper doily heard which is split into sections and inked with Outdoor Denim ink is the only  non
CTMH item.

Now something simpler --- Lately I have also been trying to design masculine cards.  Thought this might be good with a thank you message inside.  In addition to the stamp of the month, I also used the You're the Bomb (C1617) stamp set and one of my new favorites, Brushstrokes Flair (C1608). Using chocolate ink, the brushstrokes are stamped second and third generation to get the lighter effects.

Another great resource for designing masculine cards has been paper from the Paper Fundamentals (Basic Assortment Z1939).  Both the typewriter and the hand were embossed using our Princess Gold Embossing Powder (Z2066) from Ranger on black card stock and then hand cut.

You can find this stamp set as well as any of the other supplies listed on my website where you can shop 24/7.

If you have come from Kelly's blog, you are on the correct path.  The hop is a big circle, so you can start here and hop around the circle.  This is simple to do, just click the link at the end of each post to move on to the next blog.

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this stamp set and many other wonderful CTMH products. So grab your beverage of choice, and get your pinning finger ready to gather lots of great ideas for using this stamp set.

For this hop, I made some cards using various stamps from this set and ShinHan Touch Twin Markers on each card.  This first card is my favorite.

Additional products used on this card are: Teal Shimmer Trim, ShinHan Touch Twin markers Leaf Green and Turquoise Blue, and Sparkles which I colored with the Turquoise Blue Marker.  The Congratulations stamp is from D1629, Just to Say Cricut Collection (Artfully Sent).

Supplies used in creating this card were: Cocoa, Saddle, and White Daisy card stock.  The "wallpaper" was stamped and stippled using Pixie ink.  The woodgrain on the horizontal wood trim was achieved using the wood frame stamp from this set.  The vertical woodgrain was achieved by scoring and sanding the Saddle card stock.  ShinHan markers used on the mirror frame were Mahogany, Bronze, Barely Beige, Tender Pink, Golden Yellow, and Leaf Green.  I used the CTMH Silver Metallic Marker to create streaks on the mirror.  Bitty Sparkles accent the mirror.

Supplies used for this card were Topiary, Pear, and White Daisy card stock and Topiary Striped Washi Tape.  Shin Han Markers used were Leaf Green and Sap Green.  Bitty Sparkles were also used but don't really show up to well on this photo.  The thank you stamp is from D1629, Just to Say Cricut Collection (Artfully Sent).

Supplies for this card include Ruby, Canary, and White Daisy card stock.  Shin Han markers used were Carmine, Golden Yellow and Cerulean Blue Light.  Die cuts are from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge, p.35 at 3/4 inch. Gold sequins with bitty sparkles are in the center of the die cuts.

You can find this stamp set as well as any of the other supplies listed on my website where you can shop 24/7.  I've listed links to my website for quick access to supplies for these cards at the bottom of this page.
